Setting Up Your Email Accounts
Your default email address is username@yourdomain.com. This is where all of your email will be directed until you change the settings in your mail manager.
General Email Settings are as follows:
Email
Address = username@yourdomain.com (.net, .org)
Mail Server user name = username
Outgoing SMTP Mail Server = The SMTP server should be the server of your
local access provider.
Incoming POP3 Mail Server = yourdomain.com (.net, .org)
In order to protect our servers from spammers, HerWebHost does not use outgoing smtp servers. This is why you must use your dialup account smtp settings for your outgoing email.
It is rather simple to set up your email accounts and we've provided instructions for the most popular email programs below.

When Outlook Express Starts click Tools -> Accounts
- Inside the "Internet Accounts Windows" click Add -> Mail
- Fill in your name and click Next
- Click "I already have an e-mail address that I'd like to use" and fill in your email address. Click Next
- On the
"Email Servers Name" page, fill in the server information.
"My incoming mail server is a POP3 server."
The incoming mail server should be your domain.
The Outgoing Mail (SMTP) is the SMTP server of your Internet Service Provider . Click Next - Put in your mailbox username in the account name field, and the password below. Click Next.
- Click Finish - Your new settings will not take effect until you choose Exit and Log off on the File menu, and then restart Microsoft Outlook.
Your
Name = yourname
Email Address = username@yourdomain.com (.net, .org)
Reply to = username@yourdomain.com (.net, .org)
Mail Server user name = username

After loading Claris, choose Setup --> Internet Setup

Put your username and domain name in the Email Account box.
Eudora runs under MS Windows and Macintosh OS and connects to the mail server over the Winsock or Macintosh TCP/IP. Mail may be composed and read off line, but make sure that Winsock or TCP/IP is running before attempting to send or receive email. Although your account exists on our server, you won't be able to receive email at yourname@yourdomain.com until your domain name becomes live on the WWW.
After Eudora has been installed, it must be configured to point to your server. To do this, start Eudora and select "Settings" from the menu bar. Most of the options are self explanatory. Here are the steps you need to perform to set up Eudora:

Select Tools...Personalities

Right click the left-hand side of the screen. Select 'New'

The 'New Account Wizard' will appear. Type in a name for this account and select 'Next

Select 'Create a brand new email account' and select 'Next'

Type in your actual name (not your email address) and select 'Next'

Type in the email address you wish for people to send email to (this can be an alias or a true POP box). Select 'Next'

Type in the true user for this POP box (this is NOT an alias). Select 'Next'

Select 'POP' for type of incoming mail server. Then type in your domain name in 'Incoming Mail Server' field. Select 'Next'

Select 'Finish'

Right-click on the new personality created, and select 'Modify'
- In the 'SMTP Server' field, type the name of your local ISP's (such as AOL, Earthlink, AT&T) mail server. Select 'OK', and you are ready to go!
(Do NOT type in your own domain name. Your SMTP services are provided for by your local ISP. If they do not provide SMTP services, please contact us for other alternatives.)
